Artist's Description

The alluvial area was created on July 15, 1982, when the earthen Lawn Lake Dam above the area gave way 200 million gallons of water washed down boulders and flooded the park and the town of Estes Park. This image was captured at the bottom of the alluvial area looking down hill as a storm was gathering.

A little about me: I became intrigued with photography when I was about eight years old, at that time photography was to capture what was, to see how things are. As the years went by, photography became a means to see more than a representation of reality. It became the tool to develop my vision. I wanted to see more than was there. At this point I’m using both film and digital, they are the same but different. I find that when I’m shooting I use both film and digital one for idealization of my subject and the other to see beyond the surface. When shooting film I'm working exclusive in Black & White (for the past few years). All my digital work starts in color but I almost always convert to Black & White (I mention this...
